In plain terms: Vocabeez is a free learning app we make available for your personal use. Use it to learn, don’t misuse it, and understand that it’s provided as an educational tool without guarantees. The full terms are below.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and the developer of Vocabeez (“Vocabeez,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Vocabeez mobile application. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Your license to use the app
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Vocabeez on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial learning. This license is subject to these Terms and to the App Store terms referenced below.
3. Ownership and intellectual property
Vocabeez, including its design, code, text, learning content, illustrations, characters, name, and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license granted above, these Terms do not transfer any right, title, or interest in the app to you. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without our prior written permission.
4. Acceptable use
When using Vocabeez, you agree not to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app or its content;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Use the app in any unlawful way or for any purpose other than personal learning;
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
5. Educational content
Vocabeez provides vocabulary, definitions, example sentences, and sample conversations to help you learn. This content is offered as a learning aid for general educational purposes. While we aim for accuracy, language is nuanced and usage varies by region, register, and context, so we do not warrant that every definition or example is complete, current, or appropriate for every situation. Use your own judgment, and treat the app as a study companion rather than an authoritative reference.
6. App Store terms
You obtain Vocabeez through Apple’s App Store, and your use is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s terms with respect to your use of the app obtained through the App Store, Apple’s terms will govern to the extent of the conflict. You acknowledge that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, that Apple has no obligation to provide support for it, and that Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
As between Apple and us, we — not Apple — are solely responsible for Vocabeez and its content, including any warranties, maintenance and support, and the investigation, defense, and resolution of any claim that the app infringes a third party’s rights or of any product-liability, legal, or regulatory claim relating to the app. You also represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist-supporting,” and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
7. Privacy
Your use of Vocabeez is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how the app handles information. In short, Vocabeez stores your progress only on your device and does not collect personal data.
8. Disclaimers
Vocabeez is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your learning goals or expectations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, Vocabeez. Because your data is stored only on your device, you are responsible for it; deleting the app will erase it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features of Vocabeez at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and post the new version here. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use Vocabeez. You may end them at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer-protection law entitles you to bring proceedings elsewhere.
13. General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of Vocabeez, and they supersede any prior agreements on that subject.
